Memorial Day May 31, 2010, Glen Cove, New York:
Again our town hosted it annual Memorial day parade. And as we do every year on this special and moving day of remembrance, we celebrate our military branches, both here and not forgotten. And what a beautiful day for locals to fill the streets to acknowledge our local heroes.
We, the members of the Glen Cove club are aware of “HERO'S amongst them”. We are honored to call Anthony “Tony” Jimenez, a member, friend, community leader, emergency medical responder and the host of other community orientated events he involves himself in.
You will find him in front of the local shopping centers selling Poppy’s for the Vet’s., Ringing Bells for the Salvation Army at Christmas with the local youth of key and k-kids clubs and out supporting the local emergency services by seeking public donations. Tony is always there doing something to better our community. We are very proud to call him our friend!
Pennies for Peds started once again on September 21, 2009, in partnership with
the Glen Cove School District.
This year the funds will be donated to benefit a local EMS.
Save those Pennies!
Our donation to the KPTC rendered a Pediatric Trauma kit, which was presented to Chief Rob Gobbo of the EMS by both kids from the K-kids and Key club of Glen Cove. Special guest Joe Corace President of the Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Center Foundation.
